    I have often found that those recipes which contain the least ingredients, are, in fact, the most difficult to make well. For years I have been attempting (yes, attempting) to make croissants. I made them correctly just once, and I am sure that was a fluke, because it has never been repeated. And just look at that ingredient list: butter, flour, milk, yeast, and salt. That’s it. And somehow I mess it up. Each. And. Every. Time. (Well, except that once.) These biscuits are like that. No. Not the messing up part, although that can and does happen, because trust me there are many ways to have these get away…

2026 Homesteading Classes

At Starpoint and Wilson Community Education:

  • A Hobbit’s Supper— Join us for a merry good time of food and cheer and song as we enjoy a cozy afternoon in, making and enjoying a cheese course, a warm stew (complete with Samwise Gamgee’s potatoes) and a dessert. There may also be a bit of (root) beer to be enjoyed by all! 2/28 at 12-2p at Starpoint for $35/pp and 2/23 at 6p-8p at Wilson for $38/pp
  • Meal Prep/planning—getting organized and efficient with this cost and time saving measure—leave with a planner filled to the brim with recipes straight from the Farm and five lunches to get you started! 3/28 at 12-2p at Starpoint for $45/pp and 3/23 at 6p-8p at Wilson for $48/pp
  • Garden Planning— Learn all the ways a garden can be done in this informative and hands-on course. We will review methods/planning and planting just in time for the 2026 growing season. Each participant will leave with a personalized graphed garden plan and a flat of just-set seeds. 4/11 at 12-2p At Starpoint for $35/pp and 3/7 at 12-2 for $35/pp

 

On the Farm classes ($30/pp*):

  • 8/8- Lacto fermentation. We will be making Kimchi, Fermented tomatoes, and hot sauce 
  • 9/12-Elderberry Syrup and No-added Pectin Raspberry Jam
  • 11/21- The world’s best pumpkin pie. Ever.
  • 12/5-European Christmas Cookies
